We have a beautiful visitor center, called the Meadow View, with a unique panoramic view of the green meadows of the Hammeren area.

You can clearly see that we are on the border of the forest area and the clay area. With the binoculars (which you can use from us) you can explore the wide surroundings. In clear weather you can see the “ears”, the satellite station of Burum. And in the distance you can also see the church towers of Kollum.

Part of the old stable has been converted into group accommodation.

Since April 2010, cows are no longer milked on the Hammerslag. A beautiful hall was then built in the barn. The former milk pit has been transformed into indoor hand archery range c.q. game room.

We also have a separate canopy, where the barbecue can be when the weather is bad.

Farmer’s golf is a fun sports group activity.

The beauty of farm golf is that it is suitable for any group. The emphasis is on sociability combined with sportsmanship. Every time you come to play farmer’s golf with us, you will notice that nature has changed the course’s handicaps. What kind of handicaps these are, you will notice automatically when you play the game with us.

Farmer bowling is a great alternative to playing farmer golf in bad weather

In our “milk pit” you can play farmer’s bowling. The game is played on a green (grass) mat of 8 meters by 2 meters. The aim of the game is to knock over the pins in the shape of a wooden shoe as much as possible. Just like real bowling. The ball is slightly smaller than a normal bowling ball, but is made of the same material. Tactics are more important than strength.

In bad weather, a great alternative to playing farmers’ golf.

Carpet bowls is originally from England and is played on an 8-meter by 2-meter green (grass) mat. The object of the game is to roll the course ball as close to the small white ball as possible. The course ball is not completely round, so it makes a curve (called heading). They are like small bowling balls.

Archery at the Hammerslag

In hall Vee(l)zicht you can enjoy beautiful and safe hand archery. Hammerslag has 3 indoor archery ranges. Who knows, maybe there is a real “Robin Hood” in you.
Of course, hand archery starts with an explanation and safety instruction.
We shoot with aluminum (carbon) arrows and plastic bows.

Pitchfork hanging in the hall the Meadow View

In hall the Meadow Gaze you can try to break the record of Pitchfork Hanging. This is a playful game, you can measure your strength with your colleagues or friends. Occasionally there are guests who can make a “bird’s nest,” so these people are very limber and strong in their arms.

You do not need to make a reservation for this, should we have a moment, we can offer this spontaneously.

In a fun, educational, relaxing way we will give you interesting information about modern dairy farming.

We will give you a fun guided tour of our farm and a tour of the dairy farm with milking robot, fattening robot and calf transport station of our neighbors, the Bosma family.
If you wish, you can have plenty of contact with the cows and calves and you can pet and cuddle them.
