The livestock farm

We like to show how things work on an average Dutch farm these days.
Our farm includes about 90 hectares of grassland. On the farm behind the Hammerslag we milk over 100 cows and have a few sheep. In summer most of the cattle are outside. Some of the young cattle walk in the stables of Hammerslag. You can then see these cows and calves from the Vee(l)zicht room.

The Hammerslag stable was built in 1996. A new house was added in 2006.

While working on the land, we think it is important to protect the meadow birds. We therefore participate in agricultural nature management, in cooperation with the local bird watch association.

We hope that during your visit to the Hammerslag, especially in the summer season, you will be able to spot various species of meadow birds in the area. In the fall, you can admire thousands of geese.
